Open-Source: Power to the People!

After reading Software Industry vs. Software Society: Who Wins in 2020? I decided to post an entry about the open-source softwares phenomenon.

Theses software are developed for and by the people around the world. They are mostly free to use and most of the are found on the website of the SourceForge.net community.

I have to admit I am biased because I use a lot of open-source softwares because of their quality. They are updated regularly and freely. Because they’re free, the number of users is huge and increases each day. Therefore, if you need help, there’s a big community out there to help you. Isn’t it fantastic? :)

Here’s a list of the open-source softwares I use:

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • foobar2000
  • Inkscape
  • VLC Media Player
  • Frostwire

There are many more out there and you can learn more about them at www.sourceforge.net

Dear Mr. Coffee

coffee-cup.jpgCoffee, coffee, coffee. I’m addicted. Totally. Evidence of this… I’m currently at the Star Café while writing this. I thought I’d share some info about this fabulous drink. Not that you care or anything, but I’ve got nothing else to do, really.

And… well… I’m bored now and not much inspired, anyways, so I’ll continue this later.

How to get liquored up with taste

Since the end of last semester, I’ve partyed a bit too much, but enjoyed myself doing so. And I thought I’d share with you one of my favourite shots: The Uppercut! Trust me, it’s probably one of the best ways to get wasted fast… in a tasty way.
First of all fellas, you’ll need Southern Comfort, Triple Sec, Amaretto and orange juice. Also, you’ll need 2 sizes of shots glasses.
Set up a round of *insert a big number here* shots on the counter. Now, fill the smaller shot glass with orange juice. Then, in the bigger glass, pour 1 oz. of Southern Comfort, 1 oz. of Triple Sec and 1 oz. of Amaretto. Then, drop the smaller glass in the bigger one.
Bottoms up and spirits down! Cheers! Now, slam another one…
And please, DRINK RESPONSIBLY! Don’t f-ing drink and drive, m’kay!

Just A Teaser

You probably don’t even care, but I’ve been working on a personal project for some time: a ski and snowboard film. I don’t have much time to ride because of school and work, but December was quite productive and I’m satisfied with the results so far. I’ll need for sure to get some big shots in the park and heavy snow backcountry riding, but this should be done for the end of winter 2008.

Just for the record, the fellas in the video are my brother (in red with the mirror goggles) and Alex Landry (in black and light blue).

Again…

So here it is, I’ve finally set up (another) blog. Let’s hope I’ll find some stuff to post on it, or simply some motivation to post on it! Well, that’s pretty much ’bout it. Just for you, here’s one of my latest pictures I’ve shot. It’s dated from December and I just can’t wait to shoot again… I cross my fingers to try and get some more time to get my camera out and snap something.

Peace, love and rock n roll!
